MSD 1009 EB ALU

Dynamic chin strap test system, combining fork-and-rollers and hooked-shell methods; four-column aluminium frame with motorized lifting and pneumatic release. Includes two headforms (full and sectioned).

Technical data sheet :

  • Frame constructed from ITEM aluminium profiles (80×40 mm and 40×40 mm), supporting an adjustable headform holder.
  • Chromium-plated steel bar (Ø 20 mm), with a total mass configurable to 5 kg or 7 kg using removable half-discs; the preload is 15 kg when the headform is used in the hooked-shell configuration.
  • 10 kg drop weight, divided into two modular parts (6 kg + 4 kg).
  • Automatic recovery system for the drop mass after impact, driven by an electric motor.
  • Two automatic stop sensors: one active during the hooking phase and one at the upper limit position.
  • Automatic drop-mass release system operated by two pneumatic cylinders.
  • Two testing methods available: A – Hooked-shell method (compliant with ECE 22/06, IS, or equivalent standards) . B – Fork-and-rollers method using a sectioned headform (for bicycle helmets and similar standards).
  • Two resin headforms included (size specified by the customer): one full headform for ECE testing and one sectioned (cut) headform for other EN standards.
  • Control box equipped with a QUASM7 electronic control board governing all machine functions: UP, DOWN, RELEASE, emergency stop, and lower limit switch override. Solenoid valve for load release.
  • Weight: 75 kg. Dimensions: 655 × 630 × 2045 mm.
  • Surface treatment: all unpainted parts are zinc-coated.

Remarks

This model features an electric motor to lift the drop mass to various heights, allowing the lift mechanism to be stopped at any desired position. Graduated reference marks are provided on the sliding bar (e.g., 25 cm, 60 cm, 75 cm, etc.). The operator stops the lift manual control when the reference mark on the bar is reached or aligned with the lift carriage. In the hooked-shell method, the operator manually adjusts the headform height—and consequently the chin strap length—using the adjustment handwheel located at the top of the machine
