My story in the field of passive safety stems from a deep passion for motorsports (starting with enduro and track racing on two wheels, followed by cars) and a fundamental insight: protecting the talent, speed, and lives of athletes requires uncompromising testing technologies. This bond between engineering and safety has guided every single milestone of my professional and entrepreneurial journey.

Roots and First Insights

Following my studies in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and my early experiences as an enduro rider, I began collaborating with Nolan S.p.A. in 1978 as a designer and head of the testing laboratory. Working closely with motorcycle champions during those years made me realize the crucial importance of having state-of-the-art testing equipment to develop Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

In 1980, I chose the path of entrepreneurship by founding my first sole proprietorship, which later became AD Engineering.

Our focus was clear: to design and build testing machines and measuring instruments for mechanical and optical tests that did not yet exist on the market, raising the safety standards of helmets and visors internationally.
